OnePlus 5 Leaks Hints 8GB RAM, Snapdragon SoC And More
Now is the time for OnePlus 5 to brag of its leaked
specification and features. Since the launch of OnePlus 3T, the internet was
bombarded with speculations of a new offering from the OnePlus in the form of
OnePlus 5.
Interestingly enough, the company has opted out the number ‘4’
from the flagship, for rather superstitious beliefs in China. If you want to
understand in simple narrative; you can look at the example of the USA. There, many hotels skip the room number 13, before 14 and after 12. So they have a room
number 14 after 12, as the number 13 is synonymous to jinx. Quite weird you
see.
According to Chinese tech portal PC Pop, the OnePlus 5 will have a whopping 8GB of RAM memory which would
be coupled with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor—an upgrade from OnePlus
3T’s Snapdragon 821. And its storage to be bumped up to 256GB.
The leaked article also revealed that the OnePlus 5 would have
hardware navigation keys, however the bezel will be thinner than its predecessor.
The fingerprint scanner is said to be affixed at the rear of the smart-phone
because of the extra display area. And the
OnePlus 5 will be 7mm thin, sleeker than its forerunner in some degree.
On the design front, the reports suggest that the screen
size remains the same as the OnePlus 3T, which is 5.5 inch. However, you can
expect the company to trim down the bezels and up the resolution to 1440 x 2560
(2K QHD display). Reportedly a dual camera
setup will be deployed that will shoot pictures at 23 megapixel, and a 3000 mAh
battery to power the device, which would be a downgrade from the 3T’s 3,400 mAh
one.
Lined up to be launched in the second half of this year,
OnePlus 5 is expected to have a price tag of around $500. This rise in the rate
is evidently pushing the mid-range bracket as far as it could go. And this increase
is the significant jump over the OnePlus 3T’s $440 price tag. But if you compare the price with other
flagship smart-phones with similar specifications, the OnePlus 5 expected price
is lower by a few hundred dollars.
OnePlus 5 Leaks –My Take
Without any doubt OnePlus always has been a company that
brings smart-phones at medium range budget with high-end configuration. As the
leak suggests OnePlus 5 looks sturdy with whooping specs it has to offer, at
the same the alleged price is not touching the skies when compared to other
flagships in the market. For exact details, we have to wait until the unveiling
of the curtains from OnePlus 5 in the next half of the year.
As soon as we learn further updates on this upcoming Smart-phone
we will have a say here. So stay Connected!
