MIUI 12.5 Stable Version Release Begins Today, These Devices To Get First Update

The wait is over, as Xiaomi officially announced the rollout of the maiden batch of MIUI 12.5 stable version. Smartphones like  Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, and Mi 9 SE will get the initial stable version MIUI 12.5 update. And Mi 11 initiated the beginning of the rollout of the MIUI 12.5 stable version. Celebrating 11 years of Xiaomi, founder Lei Jun is planning to release MIUI 12.5 in full on the 30th of this month, and the first batch is being rolled out.

In a recent post on Facebook, Xiaomi India Head Manu Kumar Jain confirmed MIUI 12.5 will launch in India, but he has yet to announce the exact release date. However, several weeks ago, Xiaomi introduced MIUI 12.5, an upgrade to MIUI 12.

In comparison with the predecessor, MIUI 12.5 will provide faster and smoother performance.

The Mi 11, the first device to run MIUI 12.5 software. Mi Pilot testing program for MIUI 12.5 includes Mi 11, Mi 10, Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, the Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 9T, and more. 

Further, Redmi handsets such as Redmi Note 7 Pro, Redmi Note 8 Pro, and Redmi Note 9 Pro will receive MIUI 12.5 global updates. New UI offers improved performance with power and smooth processing.

In addition, MIUI 12.5 provides improved security and performance. MIUI 12.5 version will basically be the base upgrade before MIUI 13 launch. 

MIUI 12.5 second batch stable version rollout starts at the end of May. It includes Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro, Mi 10S, Redmi K40, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30i 5G, Mi 10 Lite 5G, Redmi K30 Ultra, Redmi 10X, Redmi10X Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi CC9 Pro, Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi CC9, Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi 9, Redmi K20 Pro and Mi 9 Pro 5G.

We can expect MIUI 12.5 second batch stable version rollout at the end of May. This will comprise devices like: Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro, Mi 10S, Redmi K40, Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30 5G, Redmi K30i 5G, Mi 10 Lite 5G, Redmi K30 Ultra, Redmi 10X, Redmi10X Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra, Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi CC9 Pro, Redmi Note 9, Xiaomi CC9, Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition, Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi 9, Redmi K20 Pro and Mi 9 Pro 5G.

MIUI 12.5 Update (India) - Devices Eligibility and Update Available list.

New MIUI 12.5 devices will be released via OTA update to select devices on the company's list. The global release of MIUI 12.5 will take place over the course of several phases, as it did in China.

MIUI 12.5 New Features: Additions, Upgrades

MIUI 12.5 will provide enhanced performance. The MIUI 12.5 has been reported to be more light, fast, and efficient. 

  • Xiaomi claims that this upgrade will use 20 percent lesser cores than before, along with 35 percent less background memory and 25 percent less power usage.
  • The new applications include Mi Calculator, Notes App, the Weather App, Compass, Scanner, and Mi Recorder.
  • Mi Music, Themes, Mi Video, Downloads, and Mi File Manager can be hidden but not uninstalled.
  • Xiaomi is now using the ‘MIUI Light Cone Motion Effect Architecture’ compared with MIUI 12.
  • There are three new Super Wallpapers included in MIUI 12.5: Snow Mountain from Mount Siguniang, Shipwreck Bay in Greece, and Blade’s Edge Mountain in Italy.
  • Additionally, MIUI 12.5 places a greater emphasis on privacy. It contains Clipboard Protection, File Storage (Sandbox Mechanism) and  Browser.
  • Location (Fuzzy Positioning) now has special mentions. 
  • MIUI 12.5 has privacy instructions that include special instructions to avoid risks, malicious contents, and security tampering.
