Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are getting a stable MIUI 12.5 Update in China

In accordance with original plans, Xiaomi has now officially kicked off its MIUI 12.5 update wave. The Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro are part of the first batch of devices ready for MIUI 12.5. Now, however, a stable build has been seeded to Chinese units.

For the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, the OTA is around 4GB based on Android version 11 V12.5.3.0.RJBCNXM and v12.5.3.0.RJACNXM. The update also contains March 2021 security patches for Android.

The build itself is available in China only and is a part of the "stable beta recovery" branch. It should be available to more devices soon if everything goes smoothly.

MIUI 12.5 may only have a ".5" difference in its numbering, but it's more than just a slight tweak in the right direction. This release includes a substantial rewrite of the MIUI core code and promises a 20% reduction in memory usage, with a 35% drop in background usage average and 25% less power consumption.

Global builds for MIUI 12.5 for these devices are expected to come out soon, though there's no official timeframe.
