THE ANNOUNCEMENT DATE OF XIAOMI MIUI 13 HAS BEEN REVEALED

Despite the fact the spread of MIUI 12.5 seems slow, Xiaomi is working on the announcement of a new iteration of the proprietary UI- MIUI 13. Insiders suggest that Xiaomi will not delay the release of its new version of the Xiaomi interface and pledge to bring it out next month, and we already know the exact date-- June 25.

It is reasonable that the initial MIUI will be open for the Chinese market--and later it will be released worldwide. However, the company has not much about the new features to be included in MIUI 13. But, for sure that  Xiaomi has revealed that the proprietary interface will be faster, stable, and functional. Generally, Xiaomi announces a new user interface when it launches a new smartphone; it is possible that this time the announcement will coincide with the release of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 handset.

In the meantime, Xiaomi is busy distributing MIUI 12.5, which has been successful in updating Chinese versions of smartphones, but the global firmware is not being made by developers as fast as Xiaomi’s global users would have anticipated.  For example, Xiaomi announced the other day that it found beta testers for MIUI 12.5 on Poco devices. The work will involve several months of testing and it's unlikely that someone will be able to receive the updated firmware before the fall.

XIAOMI WILL ADD THE ABILITY TO EXPAND THE RAM IN MIUI 13

In China, when Vivo launched its X60 series smartphones with Origin OS, the company said the users could benefit from 3GB of virtual memory to expand RAM as needed. Following this, the new feature appeared in some devices of Vivo and iQOO. And, it is likely that Xiaomi smartphones will receive similar functionality.

Xiaomi firmware enthusiasts have discovered a feature referred to as Memory extension in the MIUI 12 code. It is worth noting that it is quite different from the system of Origin OS that allows users to expand RAM at the expense of permanent memory by only 1 GB. It is not yet clear when the new feature will debut in MIUI. It is likely to happen in the future. Rumors suggest that Memory Expansion will debut in MIUI 13.

Nevertheless, there is no way to tell how useful the feature is in real-world use. We could reason that flagship smartphone with 8-12 GB of RAM have little sense from it. However, for those with budget devices with 2-4 GB of RAM, an additional Gigabyte of memory won't be superfluous.
